The game of the day in the Championship is the one that sees league leaders Burnley travel to Nottingham Forest. Burnley will fancy their chances of continuing their great start to the season and they are 5/2 (GENERAL).
Forest sit in fifth place and confidence will be high after their 2-0 victory at Leicester last time out. The East Midlands side are 13/10 (BETVICTOR) for the victory while the drawn is an option as Burnley have drawn their last two games ande Forest two of their last four at home and the game to end all square is 12/5 (GENERAL).
A slip up by Burnley could allow Leicester or QPR to go top with both sides two points behind the Clarets. The Foxes are 7/4 (BETVICTOR) to defeat Ipswich though the East Anglian side have lost just one of their last seven games. Ipswich can be backed at 15/8 (boylesports) while the draw is a 12/5 (BETVICTOR/CORAL) chance.
QPR should have few problems seeing off Charlton at Loftus Road though the prices reflect this with the Hoops just 4/6 (boylesports/STAN JAMES) while the Addicks are 11/2 (ladbrokes) for a third straight away victory.
The best bet in the division comes from the game between Watford and Bolton at Vicarage Road. I think the visitors are good value to get something from the game. The Trotters are unbeaten in their last seven league games and have each won of their last two games. Watford are without a win in their last four games and have lost each of their last two at home. The Trotters are 7/2 (bet365/boylesports) the victory though I quite like the prospect of covering the draw so I would recommend taking them at 41/40 (bet365/BETVICTOR) on the Asian Handicap market which will pay out if the game ends in a draw or a Bolton victory.
Another bet I like the look of comes in the relegation battle between Millwall and Barnsley at the New Den. It is now six games without a victory for the Lions and Steve Lomas looks a man in real danger of losing his job. The Tykes meanwhile are starting to slowly get themselves together going four games undefeated in the Championship. A home win with Middlesbrough four games ago has been followed by decent draws with Ipswich, Doncaster and Sheffield Wednesday. You want to keep the draw on side in this game as both these teams having been drawing a lot lately. The Lions have drawn three of their last four while the Tykes have drawn each of their last three take Barnsley and the draw in the double chance market at 5/6 with bet365.
Boro sprung a huge surprise by appointing former Real Madrid number two Aitor Karanka as their new boss. It was bold move by Chairman Steve Gibson and he has to be applauded for trying something different to lift a side that have been stuck in medicority for a while now under previous maangers Gordon Strachan and Tony Mowbray. I think the Spaniard can do well at the North Eastern side as the squad he has there at the moment is decent. His star man is Albert Adomah who has netted six times in his last five games and looks over-priced at 10/3 (paddy Power/CORAL/william hill) to net at anytime. He will fancy his chances against a Leeds defence that has shipped ten goals in their last five games.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Bolton +0.5 on Asian Handicap v Watford, 41/40 (bet365/BETVICTOR)
SILVER: Barnsley/Draw double chance v Millwall, 5/6 (bet365)
BRONZE: Albert Adomah to score anytime v Leeds, 10/3 (paddy Power/CORAL/william hill)
