The game of the day in the Football League comes from League 1 where top of the table Wolves take on fourth placed Brentford at Molineux. The Midlands side moved to the summit last weekend after they won at Notts County while Leyton Orient lost to Preston and Peterborough suffered defeat at Walsall. Wolves are 13/10 (BETVICTOR) to defeat a Brentford side who have won each of their last six in all competitions. You can get 5/2 (ladbrokes/boylesports) that the Bees hand Wolves their second successive home defeat following an FA Cup loss to Oldham in midweek.
Leyton Orient suffered their first league home defeat of the season to Preston last weekend and will look to bounce back on their travels when they take on Swindon. The Robins are no mugs though and have nine wins from their 12 games at their own ground this season in all competitions. You can back Orient at 21/10 (GENERAL), Swindon at 7/5 (BETVICTOR/william hill) while the draw is 5/2 (bet365/BETVICTOR).
I like the look of Carlisle to get something from their trip to Rotherham on Saturday. The Cumbrians are grinding out results and have lost just one of their last five in all competitions, drawing three. Rotherham meanwhile have won just one of their last five in the league and none of their last four at home. Tranmere and Colchester have gone to Rotherham and taken a point in recent weeks and Carlisle are every bit as good as those sides and in the case of the Merseysiders better. Take the draw/Carlisle in the double chance market at 6/5 (BWIN).
I think it also has to be worth chancing Notts County to get something from their visit to Shrewsbury. County are on a run of three defeats from their last four games though these losses came against high-flyers Wolves, Coventry and Preston. Shrewsbury should be an easier game especially as the Shrews have won just two of their last 15 games in all competitions. Take County then in the draw no bet market at odds of 13/8 (bet365).
So tightly packed is it in League Two that Wycombe in 13th, Hartlepool in 14th and Mansfield in 15th sit eight points from the top of the table and eight points from the bottom of the table. It has become a difficult league to predict so be careful when adding sides to your accumulators as many short-priced favourites are coming unstuck. The best bet in League Two comes in taking Bristol Rovers to get something from their visit to Burton. Rovers are now unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions and have lost just one of their last five on their travels. Last time the Pirates played away in League Two they won at table toppers Oxford so should fear nothing from a trip to a Burton side who have won just one of their last seven league home games. You can get Rovers at 15/16 (BETVICTOR) on the Asian Handicap with a 0.5 start which covers a win or a draw and this looks the way to play it.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Draw/Carlisle in double chance market v Rotherham, 6/5 (BWIN)
SILVER: Bristol Rovers +0.5 on Asian Handicap v Burton, 15/16 (BETVICTOR)
BRONZE: Notts County draw no bet v Shrewsbury, 13/8 (bet365)
