The Grand Slam of Darts finishes the first stage on Tuesday (12th) night and here is our guide to what is at stake in Groups A-D and the best of the bets available.

In Group A Phil Taylor has already qualified while hardly breaking a sweat as he has dropped just one leg from his two games so far. Up next for the Power is Kevin Painter who is already eliminated and he (Taylor) is 9/2 (bet365) to whitewash the Artist.

The big game in Group A though is the battle between Paul Nicholson and Stuart Kellett with the winner scheduled to progress alongside Taylor. The Asset is the 4/6 (ladbrokes/william hill) favourite while the Kooster (god knows why he chose that nickname) is a 11/8 (boylesports) chance. These two have met twice before and the head-to-head record is tied at 1-1 each with both games being tight ones. I like this game to be close so take this to go over 7.5 legs at 11/13 (BWIN).

In Group B James Wade has already qualified and with the winner of this group avoiding a game against Phil Taylor in the last 16 I expect the Machine will not rest up against Wesley Harms and he is 4/9 (bet365) to make it three wins from three games.

The other game in the group is also the final game of the evening and is a win or go home battle. Bookmakers can not split Anderson (SKYBET) and Peter Wright (GENERAL) at odds of 10/11. This looks like another game for the overs in the total legs market so take the 4/5 (SKYBET) that this game has over 7.5 legs and ends the group stages in style.

Pre-tournament we tipped Ronny Huybrechts to qualify from Group C at odds of 7/4 and after two games the Belgian has done the business for us. Up next for him is a game against Richie George in the opener of the evening. He is 1/2 (SKYBET) to see off his already eliminated opponent. He should have few problems here though he will be keen to avoid a last 16 meeting with his brother Kim so this might be want to swerve from a betting point of view.

The other game in this group is the win or go home battle between Adrian Lewis and Christian Kest. Intially I thought this could be another game that could go over the total legs. However, Jackpot is such a difficult player to predict that he could quite easily come out on and win this easily so I will give this match a miss.

Group D is where it gets complicated as all four players can still qualify. Going into the final games Michael van Gerwen sits top with four points, Dean Winstanley and Kim Huybrechts have two each while Vincent van der Voort is pointless.

Winstanley is up against van der Voort and he is 8/11 (SKYBET) to see off the Dutchman while his opponent is 5/4 (GENERAL) the victory/ The game of the night could be the battle between Michael van Gerwen and Kim Huybrechts. Mighty Mike and the Belgian hotshot are both playing good Darts on the Tour and have a close 5-4 head-to-head record. It makes no sense then to see Huybrechts as big as 11/10 (CORAL) with a 1.5 headstart on the handicap. This looks the bet of the night.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Kim Huybrechts +1.5 on Handicap v Van Gerwen, 11/10 (CORAL)
SILVER: Over 7.5 legs between Anderson and Wright, 4/5 (SKYBET)
BRONZE: Over 7.5 legs between Nicholson and Kellett, 11/13 (BWIN)
