With no action in the Premier League and the Championship Leagues One and Two take centre-stage and the SKY cameras will be at Bradford on Sunday (15:30) as the Bantams play host to Coventry. The Sky Blues are my best bet for the weekend as they are playing some wonderful football under Steven Pressley who is making a name for himself as a manager of real promise. The Midlands side were the only team to have beaten Leyton Orient this season and were it not for a ten point penalty would be fourth not elveenth. Coventry are 8/5 (BETVICTOR) for a sixth straight victory and that looks worth taking against a Bradford side with no win from their last six in all competitions that include league defeats at home against Wolves and Tranmere. Leyton Orient continue to lead the pack in League One and this weekend they play host to fourth placed Preston in League One. Orient have won six and drawn one of their seven league home games this season and they can be backed at 11/10 (SKYBET/ladbrokes/william hill) for victory here though North End are no mugs having lost just one of their seven league away games this season. Simon Grayson is doing an excellent job at the Lancashire side so this looks a game to skip form a betting point of view.
Second placed Wolves are away at Notts County who are now under the stewardship of Shaun Derry and Greg Abbott. The Magpies are bottom of the division though at home they have actually won four of their last five in all competitions so Wolves will not have it easy and the Midlands side look a little short for me at odds of 4/5 (BETVICTOR).
In League Two it is top versus bottom as the leaders Fleetwood travel to Northampton and the visitors are the 13/10 (bet365/william hill) favourites as they look to continue a run of four straight victories in all competitions. The Cobblers meanwhile will hope that an FA Cup last weekend can be the turning point they need to kickstart their season and they are 5/2 (BETVICTOR) for victory which is the same price as the draw. Second placed Oxford are away to 14th placed Mansfield and they are 9/5 (bet365/BETVICTOR/WILLIAM HILL) though they have won one just of their last five in all competitions and needed a late goal to rescue a cup replay against non-league Gateshead. The biggest game in the division is the one that sees fifth placed Morecambe at home to fourth placed Rochdale. The Shrimps are a strong side at home with three wins, three draws and one defeat from their seven leaguegames. Dale though are no mugs and have won four of their last seven away games in all competitions and can be backed at 33/20 (betway).
The best bet in this division comes in the game between Scunthorpe and Accrington where I think the visiting Stanley look a big price to get something. The Iron are a good side but they have failed to win four of the last seven home games and have won none of their last three home or away in all competitions. Accrington meanwhile are starting to pick up league form with two wins and and a draw from their last three games and I like the look of them at 19/16 (BETVICTOR) with a 0.5 start on the Asian Handicap which will pay out on the game ending drawn or in a Stanley victory.
One final bet comes in the anytime scorer market where I like the look of Byron Harrison to score against Wycombe at 5/2 (bet365/betfred/paddy Power). The Cheltenham player has scored in each of his last three league games so looks a value choice.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Coventry to beat Bradford, 8/5 (BETVICTOR)
SILVER: Accrington Stanley +0.5 on Asian Handicap v Scunthorpe, 19/16 (BETVICTOR)
BRONZE: Byron Harrison to score v Wycombe, 5/2 (bet365/betfred/paddy Power)
