Premier League

After picking up three points at Old Trafford and a point at home to Arsenal West Brom must fancy their chances of getting something from their visit to Anfield on Saturday (15:00).

The Merseysiders are the 4/9 (BETVICTOR) favourites though despite a strong start to the season that looks a little short. West Brom are no mugs and will take confidence from the fact that they did the double over Liverpool in the Premier League last season. The best way to play this game is in the Asian Handicap market where you get West Brom with a 1.25 start at odds of 39/40 (bet365). This bet will pay out on a full win if the Baggies win or the game ends drawn while it will pay a half win if West Brom lose by just one goal.

Liverpool have looked a little more shaky in defence since playing three at the back and have shipped goals in four of their last five games. West Brom look capable of scoring here and of the players the value might lie in Stephane Sessegnon who is 11/2 (BWIN) to score at anytime. Sessegnon missed a few times against Stoke but I am confident he can put this right if giving the chance against Liverpool.

Ian Holloway never quite seem to have the heart from the Premier League fight this time around and it was no shock to see that the manager departed the club in midweek. Tony Pulis seems most likely to be the man to take charge and this looks a good deal for all parties. The former Stoke boss did a good job keeping the Potters in the division and Eagles fans will sacrifice entertaining football if it means they start to pick up some points.

Palace are in action in the lunchtime game (12:45, BT SPORT) as they take on table topping on Arsenal. Nobody but the most optimistic Palace fan will expect them to get anything from this game and they are 9/1 (boylesports) for victory while the draw is 4/1 (GENERAL). Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss in midweek to Dortmund in the Champions League and having picked up 19 points from the last 21 available in the Premier League are strong favourites at 2/5 (BETVICTOR/888 SPORT/unibet). It is a game that Arsenal should win though I think at these prices it is not worth getting involved.

The best bet in this game comes in the anytime market where I am shocked to see Mesut Ozil as big as 9/4 (888 SPORT/unibet). The German midfielder has scored five times in his last six in all competitions and will fancy his chances against a Palace defence that has shipped nine goals in their last three games. Aston Villa and Everton do battle at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon (15:00) in a game that is the most played fixture in English football history.

The Toffees are the the 5/4 (GENERAL) favourites to win this 215th meeting between the pair. The Merseysiders have won four of their last five games and lost just two of their last 12 in the Premier League (with these defeats coming to Chelsea and Man City).

Villa have won just one of their last five at home in the Premier League though the visitors have won just one of their last 12 away in the league. The draw could be an option at 12/5 (GENERAL) as four of the last five meetings between the pair have ended all square.

Both eyes will be on Belgian frontmen Christian Benteke and Romelu Lukaku with the Villa man 15/8 (STAN JAMES) to score anytime while Lukaku is a 31/20 (BETVICTOR) chance.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: West Brom +1.25 on the Asian Handicap v Liverpool, 39/40 (bet365)
SILVER: Mesut Ozil to score anytime v Crystal Palace, 9/4 (888 SPORT/unibet)
BRONZE: Stephane Sessegnon to score anytime v Liverpool, 11/2 (BWIN)
