Defeating Real Sociedad in the Champions League in midweek was important for Man United and David Moyes as it bought him some time with the fans. It is safe to say that the Scot is not winning the battle for the hearts and minds of the Old Trafford fans and knows he can not afford many more slip-ups. Luckily for United Stoke are in town and the Potters have been dreadful in recent weeks taking two points from their last five games. The Red Devils are the 4/11 (ladbrokes) favourites though the price looks a little short. If you want to enhance the price you might want to consider United to win to nil at 23/20 (CORAL) as Stoke have failed to net in their last three Premier League games.
Stoke will come and try battle out a point though they have failed to get anything from their last five visits to Old Trafford in the Premier League. If you think the Potters can get something then you can back them at 21/2 (BETVICTOR) and the draw is 9/2 (GENERAL). Bookmakers seem to have this game priced up right and I will give it a miss.
Norwich take on Cardiff at Carrow Road (15:00) in a game that is important for both sides as they find themselves at the wrong end of the table after losing their last two games.
The Canaries are the 6/5 (GENERAL) favourites as the game is at Carrow Road and they have lost just three of their last 13 at home in the Premier League. The Welsh side meanwhile can be backed at 11/4 (CORAL) while the draw is a 12/5 (GENERAL) chance.
Cardiff have conceded eight times in their last three games which suggests that Norwich are capable of scoring so I think some value could be hand in the anytime scorer market backing Norwich players. Robert Snodgrass has not been as prolific as he was last season but with the birth of his child behind him he might relax on and off the pitch and he still has a great set-piece on him. The Scot is getting the shots on target also (three last weekend against Arsenal) and should be backed to get among the goals at 10/3 (bet365).
The sixth and final game Saturday is the live evening clash between Southampton and Fulham at St Mary’s (17:30, SKY SPORTS). Southampton are the 8/13 (GENERAL) favourites after a start to the season that has seem them move up to sixth in the table. The Saints have the tightest defence in the Premier League conceding just three goals from their eight games so far this season.
Fulham though could be value to get something from the game at 11/2 (GENERAL) the victory or 31/10 (BETVICTOR) the draw. The London side are unbeaten in their last seven against Southampton (five of which have ended drawn) while the Saints have won just two of their last seven at home. The best way to play this then is on the Asian Handicap which gives Fulham a 0.75 start. This mean that if the game ends in a Fulham win or draw then the bet pays out while if they lose by just one goal then you it pays as a half loss. Reading are the only side outside the big six to have beaten Fulham by more than a goal in this calendar year in the Premier League so take the 11/10 (paddy Power/WINNER)
Staying with this game and one of the interesting features of Fulham this season is how vulnerable they look in the air. It might be worth then an interest on Dejan Lovren at 11/1 (WINNER/BWIN) to score at anytime as the player looks a real threat at set-pieces.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Fulham +0.75 on Asian Handicap v Southampton, 11/10 (paddy Power/WINNER)
SILVER: Robert Snodgrass to score anytime v Cardiff, 10/3 (bet365)
BRONZE: Dejan Lovren to score anytime v Fulham, 11/1 (WINNER/BWIN)
