Premier League preview and odds: Everton vs Crystal Palace

September 30 , 2016 20:00pm - Goodison Park

Premier League

Everton will look to halt a run of two-straight defeats in all competitions when they welcome in-form Crystal Palace to Goodison Park for Friday night`s Premier League clash.

Everton keen to put blip behind them

The blue half of Merseyside could barely have hoped for a better start to the season. They saw their team bag four wins and a draw in their first five Premier League fixtures, a run of results that lifted them up to second place in the league table, ahead of their rivals from across Stanley Park.

Since then, the Toffees has stumbled slightly, losing at home to Championship outfit Norwich in the League Cup before falling to Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend. Having slipped out of the top four and below their rivals Liverpool, Ronald Koeman and his men will now be looking to put their bad week behind them and get back to winning ways.

Standing in Everton`s way is a Crystal Palace side who are enjoying a rich vein of form. After losing their first two games of the season, the Eagles have now gone four games unbeaten and come into this match on the back of three-straight Premier League wins. However, like Everton, they did slip up in the League Cup last week, losing 2-0 away to Premier League side Southampton.

In their last game, they came from two goals down to beat Sunderland 3-2 away from home, Christian Benteke grabbing the late winner deep into injury time.

Team news

The home side still have plenty of injury concerns with Darron Gibson, Jamie McCarthy, Muhamed Besic, Matthew Pennington and Tyias Browning still occupying the treatment room.

The visitors have a few health issues of their own with Pape Souare, Scott Dann and Loic Remy all out of action with various ailments.

Betting odds and tips

Everton`s bright start was somewhat unexpected but they come into this match defending an unbeaten home record in the league.

Meanwhile, despite their good run, Palace continue to be unpredictable on the field of play. However, they have shown enough quality to come through their last three tests with maximum points and that will only boost their growing confidence.

This game is a close one to call but there could be value in the goal scorer market. Christian Benteke has bagged two goals in his four starts for Palace and will be keen to score against his former cross-town rivals.

You can back Benteke to score anytime at 21/10 with Bet365.
