Premier League preview and odds: Swansea vs Liverpool

October 01 , 2016 12:30pm - Liberty Stadium

Premier League

Struggling Swansea City will look to end a five-game winless streak when they welcome fourth-ranked Liverpool to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

Four defeats in five for the Swans

Swansea City started their season in the best possible way, grabbing all three points on the road at Burnley. Since then, the Welsh side have failed to win a single match, having lost four and drawn one of the five games they have played.

As a result of their poor form, press report have suggested that Italian boss Francesco Guidolin could be out of a job by the start of next week. However, a win on Saturday might just be enough to convince his bosses that the Swans are on the right track. In the same fixture last year, Swansea swept past their opponents (3-1) and will be hoping for a similar outcome on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been in devastating form and will arrive in Wales in buoyant mood after cruising past Hull City last weekend. The 5-1 result actually flattered their opponents as the Reds probably should have been five or six goals up by half-time, such was their dominance.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that his side continues to improve as they look to gate crash the title race. The Anfield club are currently five points behind pace-setters Manchester City and just a point behind second-ranked Tottenham Hotspur.

Team news

The home side will continue without the services of Nathan Dyer.

Meanwhile, Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez are both unavailable for the Reds.

Betting odds and tips

It could be another tough day for Swansea City when they welcome Klopp`s men on Saturday. Liverpool have been in irresistible form this season, with the defeat to counter-punching Burnley the only blot on their record.

The Reds have scored 11 goals in their last three league matches and should be backed to boost their goal tally once again.

You can back Liverpool to score over 2.5 goals at 11/8 with Bet365.
