Four-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic will take on trophy defendant Stanislas Wawrinka tomorrow as the pair face off in the tournament`s second semi-final. The victor will play Brit Andy Murray in Sunday`s final round after he saw off Tomas Berdych in four sets (6-7,6-0, 6-3, 7-5).

The players` clash tomorrow morning will mark the 20th time the two men have met on the ATP tour, with Serbian Djokovic holding a 16-3 record over his opponent. They last met in the round robin of the World Tour Finals last year, with the world number one coming out on top 6-3, 6-0.

This match was preceded by an almost identical fixture to the one we have facing us tomorrow, with the two fighting out the 2014 Australian Open quarter-final. That game was fought over five sets with Wawrinka coming back from being one down to take the result, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 9-7. A similar phoenix-like outcome seeing the Swiss come back from losing the opener to win the match is available at 10/1 with Betvictor.

Their only other previous Australian Open meeting was back in 2013, with Djokovic getting the better of Wawrinka 1-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-7, 12-10. Nine-to-two with Betvictor and ladbrokes is the price on offer for those who think that the Serb will bounce back from losing the opener.

What`s more, bet365 are offering a price of 5/6 on there being over 3.5 sets in the match whilst it`s 4/1 (ladbrokes) on there being exactly five for the third time in succession down under.

Before any money is placed on either of these outcomes, however, be aware that the number one seed is yet to drop a set at any point during the competition so far this year. As a result, bet365 are offering evens on a sixth successive Djokovic straight sets victory this week. Wawrinka needed a fourth set to pass Spain`s Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the fourth round of the tournament, the match ending 7-6, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.

Djokovic is the favourite to make it to his 15th Grand Slam final thanks to his superior head-to-head record over Wawrinka with bet365 providing 1/5 on his victory. The world number four, in contrast, is the match`s 7/2 outsider with the same bookmaker.

Taking a look at the alternative betting markets, it might be worth considering the book on whether or not there will be a tie-break in the match, what with the men have contested seven between them in the tournament this year. bet365 have odds on there being one at 1/2 whilst it`s 6/4 with the same bookmaker should you not think there will be one in this match-up.

Both of the tie-breaks Djokovic has won have both come in the opening set, whilst two of the five won by Wawrinka also came in the opener. Two-to-seven (bet365) says there won`t be a tie-break fought out in the first set of the semi-final, whilst 5/2 (also Bet365) says this trend will continue.

In terms of games conceded, the 27-year-old favourite for the clash has dropped a total of 53 games over the course of his five matches. This is an average of just under four a set and 10 a match. His challenger has dropped 65, the equivalent of around four a set or 13 a match. It is possible to bet on how many games a player will have won in the first set at william hill, six sets being the most popular bet for both players (Djokovic -4/7, Wawrinka - 17/10). Wawrinka progressed through to this stage of the competition thanks to his straight sets victories over Marsel Ilhan, Marius Copil, Jarkko Nieminen and Kei Nishikori as well as his fourth round four set triumph against Garcia-Lopez.

Djokovic put Aljaz Bedene, Andrey Kuznetsov, Fernando Verdasco, Gilles Muller and Milos Raonic to the sword on his way to the semi-final.
