West Bromwich Albion will look to make further headway under new manager Tony Pulis as they play host to Europa League hopefuls Tottenham at the Hawthorns. Spurs could supersede Arsenal in fifth with a win away from home whilst the baggies could secure 12th position should other results go their way.
The last time these two teams met in the Premier League was back in September, Albion recording an unlikely 1-0 win over the Whites at White Hart Lane under then manager Alan Irvine. James Morrison was the only scorer back then, netting with 15 minutes left to play. He can be backed at 18/1 with paddy Power to open the scoring once again.
Indeed, a West Brom win can be picked up at odds of 9/5 from william hill, with an identical 1-0 scoreline being available to wager on at 8/1 with Betvictor. A draw is available at 12/5 with both betfred and Totesport whilst Betvictor are offering 15/8 on a Spurs win on the road.
That could be a solid price on a win for Mauricio Pochettino`s men, the North London club having picked up nine points from a possible 15 from their last five away matches. Whilst Tottenham lost against Chelsea (3-0) and Crystal Palace (2-1), they beat Hull City, Swansea City and Leicester City all by a 2-1 scoreline. A correct score prediction of 2-1 to the Whites is available at 11/1 with both bet365 and Betvictor.
Only two players are to thank for contributing to Spurs` last seven goals on the road. These are Harry Kane who has managed to net four times, and Christian Eriksen who found the back of the net on three occasions. Should you think these men can continue their superb away records, they can be backed at 19/10 (Betbright, betfair) and 17/5 (888sport, unibet) respectively.
Pulis has been in charge of the Baggies for three top flight games and two FA Cup encounters, he is currently unbeaten in both competitions. In the FA Cup, West Brom hit seven past Conference side Gateshead without reply before defeating local rivals Birmingham City by two goals to one. They will host fellow Premier League side West Ham United in the fifth round in a repeat of Pulis` first game in charge at the Hawthorns that ended as a 1-1 draw.
Saido Berahino, who put four past Gateshead, levelled up away at the Boleyn Ground following Diafra Sakho`s opener. Berahino was on target again as the Baggies beat Hull by 1-0 before neither West Brom nor Everton could break the deadlock in their goalless draw.
Having scored 14 goals in all competitions this season, Berahino is available at 9/4 with Bwin to hit the back of the net at any time this afternoon. Most bookmakers are offering 11/2 on the youngster grabbing the first foal whilst 23/2 (Bwin) is the price on the Burundi-born player scoring two or more goals in the match for the fourth time this season.
The 21-year-old may also benefit from being out of the spotlight, with all eyes on new Albion signing Callum McManaman who could start the game after joining on a permanent transfer from Championship strugglers Wigan. The Black Country club paid just under £5 million for the striker, who scored six times in the Latics` final season in the Premier League. Both paddy Power and Spreadex are offering odds of 4/1 on the Merseyside-born star hitting the back of the net at any time on his debut.
Pochettino will once again be able to select Nabil Bentaleb, who returned from the African Cup of Nations this week. Nacer Chadli is also available for selection after an unspecified absence.
