After the blind auditions and the battle rounds up next in The Voice UK comes the knockout stage as each judge must try and whittle down their seven remaining acts to just three.

The outright market is currently headed by Karl Michael at 13/2 (betfred) from team Danny. The Script frontman selected Karl to go through in the last round despite him probably being the weaker singer in his battle therefore you can expect him to secure one of the three slots on this team. The second is likely to go to fellow Irishman Connor Scott with who Danny has formed a tight bond. Scott is 16/1 (SKYBET/betfred/sportingbet) and the likeable singer with a powerful voice could be a good back to lay option. The final slot in team Danny is likely to come to a battle between Asian singer Abi Sempa and Andrea Begley. Both could go far in the competition and might represent some value though with such a tough choice awaiting Danny it might be best to see who he picks. Team Danny is the deepest though it may lack any stars who could win it and odds of 11/4 (SKYBET) on him to be the winning manager look about right.

Jessie J is 5/2 (CORAL) to be the winning manager and she has two of the three market favourites in Ash Morgan at 8/1 (paddy Power) and Matt Henry at 9/1 (GENERAL). Both these have powerful voices and are very likeable characters. The battle for the final slot then is likely to come to Danny County who Jessie is a big fan of or one the females in Sarah Cassidy or Letitia Grant-Brown. If Danny comes through this stage then he could be a dark horse though I think his quirky style is something more favoured by the judges then the general public.

Tom Jones is the 7/2 (GENERAL) outsider to be winning manager which I find a little surprising. Not only does Sir Tom have some great singers he has some really likeable characters. The Welshman himself is also by far the most likeable of the judges and at this prices he must be backed to be the winning manager. The pick of team Tom must be Joseph Apostol who has a stunning voice that caused Sir Tom to cry in the battle rounds. It seems impossible to think that he will not be one of the three members selected by the Welsh crooner. He must be backed then at 12/1 (paddy Power/STAN JAMES/betway) to win the event. The battle is on then for the two remaining slots in the knockout stages and country singer Mike Ward looks a strong contender though Welsh duo Alys Williams and Ragsy must be in the mix as will soulful Adam Barron.

I am amazed to see Will I AM at 11/4 (SKYBET/ladbrokes) in the winning manager market. Other than Leah McFall (a 12/1 General chance) the Black Eyed Peas frontman has a poor squad after some baffling decisions including eliminating the market favourite Liam Tamne. Former Cleopatra singer Cleo, Jordan Lee Davies, John Pritchard, Leanne Jarvis, Lem Knights and Moni Tivony complere team WILL I AM. None of these can go close to winning and as such I suggest laying WILL I AM in the winning manager market.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Lay WILL I AM in the winning manager market
SILVER: Sir Tom Jones in the winning manager market, 7/2 (GENERAL)
BRONZE: Joseph Apostol to win the Voice, 12/1 (paddy power/STAN JAMES/betway).
