The League Cup continues on Wednesday night with two fourth round games as Newcastle entertain Man City while Tottenham host Hull. Here is the best of the bets from these games.

The SKY cameras will be at St James’ Park on Wednesday night for fourth round League Cup action with Newcastle taking on Man City. Bookmakers make Man City the 3/4 (BETVICTOR/paddy Power) favourites for the game as they look to bounce back from a late heartbreaker against Chelsea at the weekend. City will welcome the chance to face a Newcastle side that they are unbeaten against in their last 14 meetings including 4-0 victories in their last two meetings.

Newcastle also suffered a late heartbreak on Sunday when they went down 2-1 to local rivals Sunderland. The Magpies can take heart from the fact that City have won just two of their last five away games in this competition and if you fancy the North East side to get the victoryyou can back them to do so at 4/1 (GENERAL) while the draw is 3/1 (GENERAL).

Sergio Aguero is 5/4 (SKYBET/boylesports) to score at anytime and the Argentinian is in great form having netted nine times in his last seven games for City. It is unclear if he may start so it might fall on Edin Dzeko to lead the City front line. The Bosnian has three in his last three games in this competition and is 7/4 (TOTESPORT/betfred/ladbrokes) to score at anytime.

Those looking for a Newcastle scorer might be interested in Loic Remy at 11/4 (CORAL) while Papiss Cisse is a 3/1 (SKYBET/WINNER) chance. It is a tough game to predict so perhaps the best comes in the man of the match market and a little interest on the 20/1 (ladbrokes) on Marcos Lopez. The Portugal wonderkid has been on fire in the UEFA Youth League and could make a name for himself here.

The other game on Wednesday is a repeat of a Premier League game on Sunday and sees Tottenham entertain Hull. The result at the weekend was a 1-0 win for Spurs thanks to a Roberto Soldado penalty and a win for the North London side here is a 4/11 (GENERAL). Hull proved stubborn opponents in the Premier League and could be a little bit of value to make the game go to extra time and perhaps beyond. They are 11/1 (WINNER) for the victory and 4/1 (GENERAL) for the draw.

I would recommend taking the Tigers on the Asian Handicap where they can be backed at 19/20 (bet365) with a 1.5 start on the Asian Handicap. This bet will pay out unless Tottenham win the game by two or more goals.

Jermain Defoe in the anytime scorer market will be a popular bet as the player has been on fire in the Europa League and also netted twice against Aston Villa in the last round and he can be backed at 6/5 (TOTESPORT/betfred) to score anytime. I also like the look of the under 2.5 goals in this game at odds of 11/10 (GENERAL). The game at the weekend between these sides sets the mark for how this game might unfold and that needed a penalty to break the deadlock.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Hull +1.5 on the Asian Handicap v Tottenham,
SILVER: Under 2.5 goals between Tottenham and Hull, 11/10 (GENERAL)
BRONZE: Marcos Lopez to be Man of the Match, Newcastle v Man C, 20/1 (ladbrokes)
