Manchester duo to get three much needed points

It is has not been the greatest start to the Premier League season for the Manchester sides as they sit in seventh (CITY) and eighth (United) in the table. Can the pair get back to winning ways this weekend? Find out in the first of our two part guide to the Saturday 3pm games.

David Moyes will welcome the chance to be away from Old Trafford after a run of home form that has seen them lose to West Brom, draw with Southampton and just scrape past Stoke. An away game at Fulham will comes as even more of a relief. The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last eight against the Whites and have won each of their last six. Away trips to London have in general served them well as United are unbeaten in their last 11 away league games in the Capital.

United are 8/13 (GENERAL) to take all three points from this trip to Craven Cottage though I think it might be best to try and enhance this price. Wayne Rooney has netted six times in his last eight against Fulham and four times in the last six Premier League games. The United frontman will fancy his chances against a Fulham side that has shipped six in their last two.

I therefore recommend the 9/4 (BWIN) are offering on the double of United to win and Rooney to score at anytime.

Man City take on Norwich in a game that the Canaries actually won last season on the final day. This time around though I think it will be a different matter and odds of 2/9 (paddy Power/CORAL/william hill) reflect this. City to win to nil will be a popular bet at 19/20 (BETVICTOR) though the way they are defending this is not a bet that interest me.

A big game against CSKA Moscow in midweek means team selection will be interesting and raises questions over whether Sergio Aguero will start. If he does start then the Argentian will be popular in the anytime scorer market as he has four goals in three Premier League starts against Norwich and five in his last three for the club and is 20/21 (bet365).

I recommend the 15/13 (BWIN) on the second half to be the highest scoring. This would have paid in three of the last four Man City Premier League games and eight of the last 11 goals Norwich have conceded have came in the second half.

Steve Bruce can perhaps afford him self a wry smile at the situation at Sunderland as the former Black Cats boss leads out his Hull side against them on Saturday.

The Tigers are the 11/10 (GENERAL) favourites as they are unbeaten on home soil this season with two wins and two draws and they will fancy their chances against a Sunderland team that has not won a Premier League game outside of the North-East since January. The Black Cats will take heart from the result against Newcastle and Gus Poyet will have earmarked this game as one his side can also win and they can be backed to do so at 29/10 (BETVICTOR) while the draw is a 27/11 (888 SPORT/unibet) chance.

The bet here is in the anytime scorer market where Steven Fletcher is a 28/11 (888 SPORT/unibet) chance. The Scots forward grabbed a goal against Newcastle last weekend and can net here. The Tigers defence has been solid so far keeping three clean sheets in four games though these were against a Villa side missing star man Christian Benteke and Norwich and West Ham sides who rank in the bottom four of away goals.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Man United to beat Fulham and Rooney to score anytime double, 9/4 (BWIN)
SILVER: Second half highest scoring in Man City and Norwich, 15/13 (BWIN)
BRONZE: Fletcher to score anytime v Hull, 27/11 (888 SPORT/unibet)
