Burnley won the top of the table clash with QPR on Saturday and are now down to 6/1 (GENERAL) third favourites for the Championship title. QPR remain the market leaders though they are out to 13/8 (bet365) while second placed Leicester are 11/2 (GENERAL). The Hoops can go back to second and cut the gap at the top two points when they take on Wigan Wednesday night (19:45). It is 17/10 (BETVICTOR/william hill) that QPR bounce back with all three points while the draw, which has been the result in three of the last four meetings between the pair at the DW Stadium, is 12/5 (betfred/BETVICTOR).
The best in this game could in the anytime scorer market which is headed by Charlie Austin at 7/4 (bet365/betfred). The player I like the look of though is Nick Powell as the Wigan man has netted four times in the last four home games. He is likely to be handed licence to roam behind Grant Holt and could be worth siding with at 5/2 (bet365).
The League One race is looking like a three team battle between Leyton Orient, Wolves and Peterborough. Bookmakers make Wolves the evens (bet365, CORAL) favourites for the title, Peterborugh are 5/2 (BETVICTOR) and table toppers Orient are 6/1 (GENERAL). One game takes place in midweek in the league and it features Notts County and Oldham. County are currently bottom of the table with three straight defeats and they offer no appeal at 7/4 (BET365/BETVICTOR/SPREADEX).
The Latics are in good form with three wins, one draw and a defeat from their last five games in all competitions. The defeat came to Wolves while the draw came against Leyton Orient. This is good form from Oldham and although they have not picked up an away win recently I think this is the perfect opportunity for them to do so against a County side that are badly struggling. Take the Oldham victory then at odds of 9/5 (ladbrokes).
In League Two it is Oxford who are the new name at the top of the table and they are 8/1 (GENERAL) joint third favourites for the title in a division that sees just six points seperate the league leaders from Southend in 13th place. One of the sides in the mix for promotion is Scunthorpe and they away to York on Tuesday night. The Iron are 9/5 (william hill) to take all three points as they look to make it four wins from their last five games.
The Minstermen are on a bad run of form themselves with just one draw and three defeats from their last four games. York can be backed at 7/4 (boylesports/BETVICTOR/ladbrokes) for the victory while the draw is available at 12/5 (BET365/BETVICTOR).
The anytime scorer market is headed by Ryan Jarvis as the York man is 7/4 (BET365) to add to his tally of seven goals from 13 games this season. It is Scunthorpe front man Sam Winnall who loooks the value to score here. The 22-year-old has six goals this season and three in the last four and will fancy his chances against a York side that has shipped ten goals in their last four games. He can be backed at a generous price of 12/5 (paddy Power).
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Oldham to beat Notts County, 9/5 (ladbrokes)
SILVER: Nick Powell to score anytime v QPR, 5/2 (BET365)
BRONZE: Sam Winnall to score anytime v York, 12/5 (paddy Power)
