Villa value to get something from West Ham trip

Premier League

Southampton will look to continue their great start to the Premier League season that has seen them go fifth just one point from the Champions League. The Saints are 7/5 (GENERAL) to beat Stoke at the Britannia as they look continue their six match unbeaten run in the league. Stoke have won just two of their last ten home league games though played really well against Man United last weekend and are 23/10 (BETVICTOR) the victory. These sides drew both meetings last season and this game to end tied is 23/10 (SKYBET/BET VICTOR/betway).

A low scoring game is likely to be the order of the day as Stoke have conceded just four goals in their last six games at the Britannia Stadium while the Saints have kept a clean sheet in five of their last six Premier League games. The under 2.5 goals is very short at 13/20 (BETVICTOR) while NO in the both teams to score betting is 17/20 (ladbrokes).

I think an interest on James Ward-Prowse to score at anytime could be the value selection. The Saints player had a massive 101 touches of the ball in the last game against Fulham and created six scoring chances. It is true he had no shots himself but he is capabale of scoring having done so for England under 21s recently, odds of 10/1 (BETVICTOR) must be taken.

West Brom will look to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool when they take on a (at time of writing) manager less Crystal Palce. The Baggies were undone by a Luis Suarez masterclass last weekend though should have few problems with Palace and can be backed at 3/5 (ladbrokes) for the victory.

Palace can take credit from the game they give Arsenal though the defeat means it is now just two wins from their last last 19 league games (excluding play-offs). The Eagles are 11/2 (sportingbet/BETVICTOR) for the victory at the Hawthorns while the draw can be backed at 10/3 (bet365/BETVICTOR).

The best bet in this game comes in the anytime scorer market where the Baggies strikers will fancy their chances against a Palace side that has shipped nine goals in their last three games. Stephane Sessegnon has just one this season but he has been getting the chances and he is worth an interest at 23/10 (unibet) to get among the goals in this game.

I like the look of Villa to get something from their trip to West Ham. The Hammers are a difficult team to beat especially on the own ground yet the presence of Christian Benteke could be the difference between the two teams. The Villa front man knows where the back of the net is while the Hammers have scored just four goals in their last four league games with three of these coming in a freak 13 minute spell against Tottenham. Villa can be backed at 5/2 (BETVICTOR/STAN JAMES/CORAL) which could be enticing as they have lost just one of their last six way games. The Hammers have lost each of their last three home games so I like the look of the Midlands side at 6/4 (GENERAL) in the draw no bet market. I talked earlier of the threat of Christian Benteke and it would be no surprise to see the Villa man on the scoresheet here and he can be backed at 6/1 (BETVICTOR/CORAL) to score the opener and 19/10 (BETVICTOR) to net at anytime. The Belgian has netted three times in his last four Premier League away games.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Aston Villa draw no bet v West Ham, 6/4 (GENERAL)
SILVER: Stephane Sessegon to score anytime v Palace, 23/10 (unibet)
BRONZE: James Ward-Prowse to score anytime v Stoke, 10/1 (BETVICTOR)
